Naming convention in revit is highly recommended – due to the fact of organizing and accessing the information easily – few days before the client Architecture Model – has the similar naming “DR-F1.1_J1.2_H1.2_DoubleLeaf” when I went in little detail to understand the naming format

Door Abb.		Frame Detail		Jamb Detail		Head Detail		Leaf Type	Door Name
DR	-	F1.1	_	J1.2	_	H1.2	_	DoubleLeaf	DR-F1.1_J1.2_H1.2_DoubleLeaf

 

 

The problem with this naming convention would be while extracting, resaving or reloading this family for this or future project, revit won’t like “.” Dots and when you save or reload this family the Dots “.“ will convert to Hyphen “-“ which takes an additional work to do around.

 

 

 

 

There are allot of standard convention for naming, but nothing is unique it depends on project specification.
